With nearly three decades of experience, Caio Moscalcoff is a Los Angeles-based Brazilian drummer whose rhythmic precision and energetic style have made him a powerful force in the rock and blues scenes. Caio has been the driving beat behind Skunk Oil and The Velvicks, performing at renowned venues like the Viper Room and Whisky a Go-Go and recording at the legendary Studio 606 and Sunset Sound.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Contemporary Writing and Production, Caio’s drumming has elevated projects including Skunk Oil, The Velvicks, Sebastian Rider, and Johnny Nasty Boots. Based in Los Angeles, he continues to bring his distinctive approach and creative depth to both live performances and studio productions.

Caio Moskalkoff, born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, began his musical journey at the age of 8. He pursued formal studies at the Souza Lima Conservatory, which is both the largest modern music institution in Latin America and a prestigious college offering high-level music education. Caio further developed his expertise in music production and audio engineering at the Instituto de Áudio e Vídeo (IAV), Latin America's leading audio engineering school.
Caio’s early mentors included some of Brazil’s finest musicians and educators, such as Anderson Faccioli, Alaor Neves, Aquiles Priester, Nene dos Santos, Bob Wyatt, Vitor Alcântara, Daniel Alcântara, Sizão Machado, and Rodrigo Morte, alongside other notable figures such as and Marcelo Claret. These diverse influences shaped Caio's unique musical approach and strong rhythmic foundation.
In 2017, Caio graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Writing and Production from Berklee College of Music. During his time there, he studied under acclaimed educators including Casey Scheuerell, Henrique de Almeida, and Rod Morgenstein. After graduation, Caio worked at Berklee's concert operations, producing pretigious shows for three years, and also worked as a music educator for Berklee City Music, sharing his expertise with younger musicians.
Caio co-founded the band Skunk Oil, where he serves as the drummer, co-writer, co-producer, and background vocalist. The band gained recognition for their dynamic performances at iconic venues like the Viper Room and Whisky a Go-Go. Skunk Oil recorded a series of videos called "live sessions at Voxx Studios" in Los Angeles, directed by distinguished filmmaker Florianne Anderson. The band is currently producing their second album at the Historical Sunset Sound Studios, where legendary artists like Van Hallen, Toto, The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin have recorded.
With The Velvicks, Caio co-wrote and co-produced their album Greatest Hits at the iconic Studio 606 in Northridge, California. Studio 606, owned by the Foo Fighters, is known for its historical significance in the rock world, hosting top-tier artists. The album was produced by John "Lou" Lousteau, a prominent figure in rock production, known for his work with Foo Fighters, Paul McCartney, Joan Jett, Iggy Pop, and The Struts.
Sebastian Rider, an emerging blues and rock artist known for his soulful performances, has collaborated with Caio on various distinguished stages, including The Yamaha's Grand Stage at the NAMM Show, Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea cruise hosted by Joe Bonamassa, Alpine Blues Festival, and the Los Angeles County Fair. Rider’s powerful blend of blues and modern rock has earned him a growing fan base across the U.S.
Caio also perform as a drummer with Johnny Nasty Boots, a high-energy rock band that blends classic rock influences with modern grit. The band has gained notoriety, especially during their U.S. tour supporting Faster Pussycat, with standout performances at the King of Clubs (Ohio), Reggies (Illinois), and the Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood.
